Perfect for the noblewoman enjoying a masquerade ball or a Renaissance Faire, this Four-piece gown is made from a royal blue satin for the overgown and a white polycotton for the chemise undershirt.
The high-waisted bodice of the gown laces up the back with grommets and matching blue ribbon trim. From the waist, the skirt falls all the way to the floor with a longer train in the back. Matching royal blue satin oversleeves lace all the way up with individual ribbons and many grommets for a luxurious and elegant look where the extra full sleeves of the white undershirt can be pulled through a bit for that typically-Renaissance puffed sleeve look.
The oversleeves attach to the gown’s bodice with similar grommets and ribbons at the shoulder, meaning that they are fully detachable from the gown. So if you prefer to wear your dress with loose white chemise sleeves, you can simply opt not to attach the oversleeves. Both the chemise and the overdress, including the sleeves, are fully detailed with royal blue and white trim. Please note that due to the style, the oversleeves aren’t necessarily meant to close all the way. It was the fashion to show the undergown and the ribbon lacings as contrast where the oversleeve gaped from a little to a moderate amount (see photos). Keep this in mind when looking at your sleeve sizing.
